North Kessock and Kessock Bridge

The village of North Kessock lies on the north shore of the narrows between the Moray and the Beauly Firths, opposite the city of Inverness. At one time it was the north terminus of the Kessock ferry which, for hundreds of years, provided the direct link between Inverness and the Black Isle.

In 1982 the Kessock Bridge was completed, bridging the gap across the narrows, linking Inverness and the new A9 which had been re-routed across the Black Isle. The ferries were no longer required and sailed off for service elsewhere leaving North Kessock to expand as a very desirable place to stay and to visit.
