JUST back from Kenya is Mrs Bette McArdle of Glass Opera in Telford Road who has been attending a month-long international workshop on various aspects of glass-making.
Mrs McArdle, who studied drawing and painting at Glasgow School of Art in the ’50s took up working in stained and fused glass a couple of years ago.
"The workshop, which was held at the world-famous Kitengela complex near Nairobi, was very intensive, but we still had time to visit the safari park and see some of the sights," said Mrs McArdle.
The glass centre has facilities not only for stained and fused glass but also for glass blowing, metal casting and working, bead-making and pottery. It was a wonderful experience."
