ROAD users and residents of Lochalsh Road - more specifically Craigphadrig Terrace - will be glad to know that the current roadworks between Abban Street and Dunabban Road are entirely for their benefit. North of Scotland Water Authority are replacing the old sewer with a new roomier ductile iron sewer to cope with minor flooding problems in the area. "We are increasing the size of the sewer," said a spokesman, "and this will provide a little more storage in the event of heavy rain."
It would seem that this is a one-off upgrading and not part of a larger programme in Lochalsh Road area.
