These are some of the youngsters from Fliperz who recently visited Merkinch Post Office as part of a project on the Postman theme. But there was an extra pleasant surprise from Postmistress Joan Smith, second right. For not only did she give the children little presents but she also handed over a £100 cheque to Caroline Hubber of Fliperz, seen here at the back.

The money was raised by raffling a bicycle which Joan personally donated earlier this winter. The other £100 raised in the raffle is going to Merkinch Community Centre.
