A PLAN to turn the Old Granary adjacent to the smiddy at Thornbush House into a Youth and Community Centre received approval from the Inverness Area planning committee on 28th February, following a recommendation from senior planning officer Keith Gibson.

Mr Howard David of the Millennial Trust, which is based in Craigton Avenue, hopes to set up a Christian Centre there. Merkinch Community Council, who have in the past indicated concern at the possible over-provision of such facilities in the area, heard of consent being granted at their March meeting.
