Another Merkinch group seeks a voice for their concerns
ONE
of the few areas in Merkinch that has no organisation to voice the concerns of
tenants and residents is around Thornbush Road and Coronation Park.
So everyone in that area, including Old School Place, is invited to a meeting in
the Community Centre on Wednesday 4th April at 7pm with a view to setting up an
association, like other areas in Merkinch. The council is to be invited to send
a Housing officer and it is hoped the police can attend. “Bring a wish
list,” say the steering group, which consists of chairman Hugh Macdonald,
vice-chair Betty Stewart and secretary Tina McBeath. “Though obviously the
council can’t do everything at once, we can spell out our priorities,” said
Mr Macdonald.
