Wanted! Helpers for Easter playscheme
THE
call is once again going out for people with time to spare to help with the
Playscheme for local youngsters over the Easter holidays.
“We
need helpers with our Playscheme to read stories, help supervise games and
dabble in paint if you want to,” say the organisers at Merkinch Community
Centre. “It doesn’t matter if you haven’t done this before as we will give
you support along the way.”
The
Playscheme is set to run for four afternoons per week – Monday to Thursday
from 2nd to 5th April and Tuesday to Friday 10th to 13th April 2001. If that is
too much of a commitment you can volunteer for any of these days.
If
you are interested and think you could help, you can leave your name, address
and telephone number at the Community Centre (tel 239563).
The
Playscheme is for all children of primary school age. There are lots of
activities and fun things to do – games, arts and crafts, a bouncy castle,
sports, dancing, baking… something to suit everyone. The cost is £1
registration for one child and £2.50 for three or more, plus 50p a day per
child/day.
Parents
interested were asked to register in advance on 27th March (10.30 to 11.30am) or
28th (6.30-7.30pm) because there would be limited places – but if you missed
that date you could always give the Centre a ring on 239563 to see if there is
still a chance of a place.
