RECENTLY the Co-op launched its Fairtrade campaign in the Highlands from their supermarket at Telford Street.
And taking pride of place in the photo line-up along with MSP Peter Peacock (pictured above centre) and the Co-op chiefs from the South was Anneli Johansson (right) who produced the booklet being used in the campaign.

Anneli, who was on an exchange visit from Sweden, over the winter became a familiar figure at Merkinch Enterprise who provided her with the computer desktop publishing facilities. Merkinch Enterprise also printed the first 500 copies of the booklet which gives a list of Fairtrade retailers in the Highlands and outlines the philosophy behind the Fairtrade label. This guarantees a fair return for the third-world producers of such goods as coffee - and evidently pineapples!

After the launch Anneli went on a well-deserved break, touring the North, before going home.
