Janny’s Hoose

Sticking to our New Year’s Resolutions

WE ALL make resolutions at New Year, thinking that things will be different this year.
It must be something to do with the turn of the year - like we want to clear out our lives and make a fresh start.

How many of us say we want to lose weight, and start off with great enthusiasm? By the time Easter comes the novelty and resolve have worn off a bit and we are back to our old ways because its easier.
At times like these a bit of support from other people in the same boat can work wonders.

Jean wants to bring together a group of people who want to lose weight.
The idea is that the group will exchange ideas and support each other to reach their targets. This could involve outside help, health advice, cookery, or even exercise - whatever the members of the group feel they want to do.
Maybe your resolution was to improve your relationship with your children.

Being a parent is not easy and no-one teaches us how to do it. We tend to have totally unreal expectations of “living happy ever after“, but the reality never seems to match up to this. We look around and think that everyone else is doing a better job than we are. Sometimes we can feel very alone.
But there is no right way to be a parent. We all have to find things that work for us.
The Janny’s Hoose can help you by providing space for you to meet with other parents and explore ways of coping that will work for you.
Your resolution could be to get out and about more, but this is easier said than done, especially on your own.

The Janny’s Hoose could help by putting you in touch with other people; so you could walk together and have a social get together at the same time. Whatever your resolution concerning your health and wellbeing the Janny’s Hoose will try and help or point you in the direction of someone who can.

Jean will be on holiday between 4 and 22 April.
