ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY

I am a human, I stand 5 foot 4.
I think how I work is not a bore.
I am made up of cells ticking with life
Creating tissues and organs absent of strife.
My skeleton is composed of white bones.
We can move or twist in all kinds of ways
Be it practising yoga or saying our prayers.
The heart is a bag of muscle pumping our blood
And our gut is a hollow tube digesting our food.
Meanwhile hormones are released silently
And the immune system fights on courageously.
Our breathing goes in, out automatically
Our bladder and bowel excrete waste regularly.
Fascinating, is our reproductive organs
And the formation of the next generation.
But lastly I’d like to consider the brain.
From expressing its complexity I will refrain.
It is marvellous how we have speech, memory and moods
And we can do great works or be lowly and crude.
