Dear News and Views

I would like to bring to your attention the disrepair of the road in Kessock Avenue, and also to the roundabout which is crumbling and is a safety hazard to children and elderly.

I phoned the roads department last week because I tripped on a pothole in the road and nearly broke my neck. I told them this and they were not in the least concerned. The only feedback I have had was from the Rt Hon Charles Kennedy MP a while ago, who is trying to do something about this matter.

As far as I can see, the South Kessock area is falling into disrepair (come down and have a look). What are we paying our Council Tax for? One wheeley bin which is emptied once a week?

All the best to News and Views. Long may you continue.

Yours faithfully
Mr & Mrs JG Lawless

Dear Mr and Mrs Lawless

Thanks a lot for your letter and your words of encouragement and support regarding our community newsletter. I understand your frustration and annoyance at the condition of our roads and pavements and the sometimes unhelpful attitude of bureaucratic departments. I think, however, if more people wrote, phoned or faxed their local councillor or local authority complaining about the state of our environment, they might eventually listen to us.
