DRIVING quickly past Sammy “cheap-cheap” Lee’s canary yellow-fronted premises in Grant Street last month, one could be forgiven for thinking the shop had closed – the metal shutters were firmly down. However, a discreet note said that the premises were to be closed for almost three weeks from 2-21 July for stock-taking.

THE Hydro-Electric have at last cleared the weeds out of the grounds of their sub-station in Lochalsh Road/Telford Avenue. Now all that is needed is some judicious planting of low maintenance shrubs to enhance a corner that is still not exactly a beauty spot?
