Kath leaves Grant Street

KATH MacLennan, who has been an administrative mainstay at Merkinch Enterprise for almost five years, left on 24th July to take up a new post with the Out of School Care Federation (OOSCF).

When she joined the Grant Street charity as Administrative Assistant in October ’95 there were just three people involved. “I have seen it grow until now there are 15 people,” said Kath.

It was through the success of a project Merkinch Enterprise was contracted to carry out that Kath was tempted away. For she was Project Co-ordinator for the OOSCF alongside her other tasks as Administrator. The Federation has grown in the last five years from five to 28 member groups throughout the Highlands.

As a going-away gift Kath was presented with a leather brief case and document case plus a pen by Merkinch Enterprise chief executive Colin Downie on behalf of her colleagues and the board.

Among Kath’s many responsibilities at Merkinch Enterprise was acting as one of the proof-readers for News & Views, a task she is keen to continue with – so happily we have not entirely seen the back of her yet.

Good luck, Kath!
