CRAIGTON Avenue will be all a-buzz on Friday August 9th when the Community House and the next-door Showhouse hold their house-warming party.
The Community House, which has undergone a total refurbishment, accommodates a range of services for South Kessock and the rest of Merkinch including social work, housing, police, and health. These services will all be represented at the house-warming - the police are bringing along one of their 4WD vehicles (operations permitting).
A barbecue, bouncy castle, a beat-the-goalie
competition, and face-painting etc will all add to the
fun planned by South Kessock Residents Association.
There will be tea, coffee and soft drinks available.
The showhouse, which is adjacent to the Community
House, has been carpeted throughout, decorated and
furnished most tastefully. Although it is a
two-bedroomed house, one of the bedrooms has been
furnished as a small sitting-cum-interview room.
The garden has not been forgotten either, and it is a
picture thanks to the efforts of Alisdair Stewart, the
community policeman.
There will be no "star" to officially open the
house-warming, though invitations have gone out to
representatives of other Merkinch residents'
associations and to councillors and council officials.
Now all they need is a dry day!
The shutters are still up at the showhouse - but all will be revealed on the 9th.
