SCHOOLS broke up for the holidays on Thursday 4th July and both Merkinch Primary and Inverness High will reopen for pupils on Tuesday 20th August - teachers, as usual, return on the Monday. And while your diary is open - schools will close for the October holidays on Friday 11th and reopen on Tuesday the 29th. For those making their Christmas holiday plans now, the festive break runs from 20th December to 6th January.

THE High School held the first of its new-style prize givings on 28th June. Described as "less formal and more participative" than usual, the afternoon event saw pupils make presentations as well as receiving prizes. Those pupils who were not taking part or wishing to spectate were given the afternoon off.

ALL S5/6 pupils are to report to the High School on Monday 19th August to confirm their Option Choices - Red and Green Houses from 11am and Blue and Yellow from 2pm.
