ONE parent member is still needed to join the Board of Merkinch Primary School.

Meetings are held twice a term and the Board's primary purpose is to encourage involvement of parents and the wider community in schools. Board members are involved in determining the overall policies, objectives and ethos at the school.
Current members of MPS Board are Rhona Simpson, chairperson; Raymond Mackay, treasurer; Ingrid Frost, secretary; Bette McArdle and Mrs Vanzetta.
The Board met on 28th November and among the subjects under discussion were the school's development plan for the 2000/01 session and the school's policy regarding children's use of the Internet. The next meeting is on 23rd January.
