NO-ONE could complain that Merkinch Community Centre isn’t well used.
It is often humming with activity, but one evening recently was exceptional: The Economic Development department held a presentation in the main hall while the Merkinch bowlers hosted a league match in the gym - and the visitors were enjoying a lovely spread in the entrance hall.

There was whist in progress in the playroom while from the disco room came the sweet sound of singing as Elsie and her crew practised their Christmas songs. And in the board room was the girl’s group from mp33.

Amazingly there was nothing happening in the storeroom! Just as well - for the car park was already full to overflowing…
