Concert to celebrate the spirit of Christmas

PREPARATIONS are well in hand for the big Community Concert being held to celebrate the spirit of Christmas in the gym at Merkinch Community Centre on Tuesday 16th December.

The inspiration behind the event came from the increasingly successful Singing for Pleasure group, but in addition there are contributions from the Corbett Centre, Inverness Christian Fellowship, mp33 groups, the After-School club, and pupils from both Merkinch Primary and Inverness High.

Of course there will be plenty of carols and Christmas songs, but not exclusively - and the accent will be very much on participation, with the words of the songs being shown up on a screen.

Tickets, available from the Community Centre or mp33 from Monday 1st December, are £2 for adults, £1 for children.
As they are sure to be in demand it would be as well to make sure you get yours as soon as possible.

The venue, lighting and staging are being provided through a collaboration of Merkinch Community Centre and Eden Court Arts Outreach. The evening will be sponsored jointly by Merkinch Community Council and the Highland Council, with profits going to support medical relief in Albania.

The evening is one for all age groups, the youngest performer is seven and the oldest 83! It promises to be fun and one that will be remembered for a long time. See you there!
