The News and Views office has received a letter from a resident in Gilbert Street reminding us all to be alert of bicycle thieves on the run up to Christmas.

This is the second time in recent months that the family has had property stolen.

A few months back thieves stole a blue and white Honda CST 75W 90cc motorbike, and again, as recently as October 10th, the folk had a boys Daewoo mountain bike stolen. However, this time, it would seem that the thieves had access to a key as the shed where the dark blue bike was stored, did not appear to have been broken in to. The bike had an identification number written on the bar.
