Merkinch Enterprise welcomes the new community Information Technology trainer, Mike Jamieson, on board. Mike, who lectured in Accounts and Information Technology at Inverness College for over 4 years, is looking forward to the new challenges that lie ahead, "This type of training is very different to teaching at the college, but I am very keen and I am looking forward to the challenge."

Mike is a local man and has lived in Abban Street for the last twenty years, and he revealed to the News and Views that all his qualifications were gained as a mature student, "I worked at McDermotts in Ardersier for most of my adult life and when I got paid off I decided that I would need to retrain, and after four years of study, I landed on my feet with a teaching post at Inverness College."

Mike and the rest of the team within Merkinch Enterprise have a busy few weeks ahead, with the community training centre undergoing a face lift. So it’s overalls on, paint brushes in hand and full steam ahead. Watch this space for an update on the centre’s new look.
