THE recently-formed After-School Club which meets from 3pm to 5pm in Merkinch Community Centre on Mondays to Thursdays during term-time is proving very popular.

Snacks are served to the youngsters between 3.30 and 4pm, and the cost per day is just 50p with the initial registration being £1.

If anyone wishes to complete homework at the Club, a room will be made available and help can be given on request. But besides that there is lots for the youngsters to do - every night there is Pool, Playstation and a choice of Board Games, and the programme of other activities is as follows:
MONDAY: Crafts/ drawing/ colouring; Physical Activities - 3.30-4.30pm with Alan in the Gym; Games/Team games once a month starting 28 January.
TUESDAY: Drawing/ Colouring; Singing Group.
WEDNESDAY: Craft Night with Claire, the arts worker - ‘Shadow Puppets’; Storytelling with Jean - may be linked to ‘Shadow Puppets’.
THURSDAY: Drawing / Colouring; Games/Activities Night with Alison and Maria; Storytelling with Jane.

It is stressed that ANYONE WISHING TO PAINT MUST BRING AN OLD SHIRT OR APRON!

In the pipeline are such activities as Gardening, Cooking, Baking, and Dancing, Drama and Dressing up. There are also plans for an outing at the end of March, venue to be confirmed.
