Sir, - Since moving to Telford Road some years ago I have spent a not inconsiderable amount of time and money restoring the space around my house to some kind of a garden. The fence alone cost over £1000. Judging from the number of compliments received this has brought pleasure not only to myself but many others who pass by.

So I would appreciate it very much if the person/people who are destroying my fence would use their energies in more constructive ways. There are many more ways energy can be channelled more positively and I would be happy to offer some suggestions.

I also think you need to know that by damaging my fence you erode my gardening enthusiasm and my comfort in where I live. This effect on me will in turn affect many people who have commented on the pleasure the garden has brought them. Think of a pond and the ripple effect when a stone is thrown in.

So again I ask, not only for myself, please find a more positive channel for your energies. I am etc,
