A plan to have a Housing Association take control of the redevelopment of one side of Maclennan Crescent means that a start could be made within weeks to bring up to standard the run-down area. Councillor Peter Corbett is hopeful that work could go ahead after the start of the new financial year in April. Although the plans had been agreed some time ago, it was proving difficult to find ways to fund the £2 million refurbishment and residents had been resigned to a lengthy wait.
