THERE was no Burns Supper at Merkinch Community Centre this year - instead a Ceilidh was held with music for the evening being provided by the ever-popular Marlettes, just prior to their trip to America.
Among the guests were MSP John Farquhar Munro and his wife.
The Centre’s Tuesday night Singing for Pleasure group made their public debut - previously their only audience had been at Kirk Care, at Christmas-time. The group performed to great acclaim; it was only formed a few months ago and already has attracted enthusiasts from all over.

The Marlettes, left, who provided the music for the ceilidh, share a joke with guests MSP John Farquhar Munro and his wife during the interval.
