Old soldier fades away

A WELL-kent personality around Merkinch died in his sleep on 16th January, just days short of his 90th birthday.

Wallace James Donaldson was a familiar figure in his motorised buggy; he always had his wee white West Highland terrier in the basket. The former Royal Scot worked as a bus driver and lived opposite St Michael and All Angels in Abban Street for the best part of 50 years before going to Lower Kessock Street. He leaves a son David, who was at one time a member of Merkinch Enterprise to whom condolences go out.
