THE South Kessock Environmental Project, which operates from the old Ticket Office at the Ferry, is back in action for the seventh summer in succession. Dell McClurg was recently delighted to spot four dolphins cavorting off the pier at around 8.30pm at night – especially welcome after the poor sightings over the last few years. “You can usually tell the dolphins are around if you see two or three seagulls circling, looking for pickings,” she said. The project is open from noon on Sundays until 5pm “or whenever” she says.
It’s not just dolphin-watchers that frequent the centre: recently a clutch of twitchers arrived looking for Grasshopper Reed Warblers in the West Field.
