New policemen on the beat

NEW Community Beat Officer in the Merkinch area is Dominic Sermanni (pictured here). PC Sermanni joined the Northern Constabulary in Inverness three years ago, though his first brush with the law was as a cadet with Strathclyde some years earlier. He is a qualified Community Education worker and was with Highland Region for some time in the Outdoor Education Department. So it is no surprise that his interests encompass a wide range of activities.

Married, with three children, PC Sermanni lives in Strathspey and maintains his outdoor pursuits as a member of Cairngorm Cycling Club, and an enthusiast in everything from ski-ing to orienteering.

He replaces PC Norman Macleod who has gone to the Lochardil area. PC Sermanni has been joined in the Inverness West Sector by PC Mick Waters, who was not available for interview in time for this month’s News & Views. Watch this space!
