Two teams from Merkinch Primary were among a dozen taking part in a Six-a-Side Shinty tournament at the Bught Park in drizzly rain on Saturday 22nd June. All the youngsters taking part, from schools all over the city, have been involved in the shinty development scheme run by the Camanachd Association. Merkinch played well, and one team reached the quarter-finals. Although the youngsters didn’t win they all had a good time.
THEY’ve done it again! The Active Adults 10-pin bowling team have lifted the 50+ Inter-club Trophy for the third time since they took up the sport last year. Last month at Rollerbowl saw Agnes Pieraccini win the prize for the top score. “We’re really chuffed,“ she said. Five of the winning team are pictured trying their hand at carpet bowls - missing is Chrissie Allan - along with supporter. Besides lots of outings and other activities, the Active Adults are also very keen on Archery - watch out Robin Hood!
