RATHBONE’S, the charity which has helped so many Inverness youngsters into work, is to close its doors for the last time on 10th July after a decade in the Highland Capital . The centre, which has consistently supported News & Views over the years, specialised in helping young people with special educational and training needs from its Queensgate offices where four staff were employed. A branch of a national organisation with other centres in Glasgow, Fife, Dundee and Clydebank, it is understood that the decision to close the Inverness branch came after it lost vital Enterprise Company contracts. Said manager Yvonne Johnston, “ It is just very sad - we always had a quality audit. We have had a lot of letters from Drummond School and others commiserating with us.”
