It’s all go at the Janny’s Hoose these days

JUNE was a busy month for the Janny’s Hoose. After all the delays work has now started on the Hoose and it should be just about complete when the schools go back after the summer.

Our first parent support group has finished now and the participants found a lot of useful ideas to try out to improve the relationships between them and their children. New friendships were also made, which will give people support now the course is finished. We are planning to run another one after the summer, once we have moved into the Hoose.

We went on another walk on the 12th, setting off from the community centre and walking along the canal to the Floral Hall for a cuppa and then back the same way. The weather was not quite so kind as it had been for the first walk, but the return journey was dry and we saw a family of tiny ducklings taking to the water for the first time. July’s walk will be run in conjunction with the playscheme.

We had a very successful workshop on body language, which was well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by all who were there. We hope to follow this up after the summer with a series of related workshops around positive thinking, assertiveness and building confidence.

July will be a quiet month for us as we make preparations for the move into the Hoose and also plan the autumn programme.
