Back in October last year the Benula and Kilmuir Road Residents Association were awarded an environmental grant by the Highland Council to upgrade the area.
The £97,000 grant has been used to improve the overall appearance of the neighbourhood. Fences have been erected and the wall at the Kilmuir Road end has been slatted. The wall at the junction of Benula Road and Kilmuir Road has been pushed back several feet to improve the visibility for traffic coming round the corner. The grant was also used to clean up and give a general face lift to the buildings.
The grant has now been spent and completion of the remaining building work will be finished in the not too distant future.
We will keep you up to date on any developments.
