Norrie isn't leaving. The Northern Constabulary have decided that Merkinch should have two Community Policemen and that they should work in shifts. That way there should always be a policeman around when you need one. First and foremost they aim to improve foot patrols around the area, with the emphasis being very much on getting to know everyone.
The new Community Policeman is Iain Morrison another Harris man, he has been on the force for four years, with Inverness being his first station. Norrie and Iain are very sports orientated especially concerning the younger ones, both have expressed surprise at the quality of football played in the Merkinch by both boys and girls. So much so that they are planning a 7 a-side football tournament. Although Iain has just started, Norrie has been doing the job now for a few months and if you haven't met them, you soon will.
