Dancing the day away

EVER fancied yourself as a bit of a Fred Astaire, Michael Jackson or Carmen Miranda? A Day of Dance is being held at Charleston Community Complex on Saturday 3 June during the fifth Highland Festival.

Dance styles range from stepdancing, funky and tap to salsa, African and modern dance.

Among the many experts taking classes for all ages and states of fitness are Merkinch-based Andy McKechnie of Jammin Fitness, Ecuador-born salsa supremo Coca, Findhorn-based Peter Vallance and local dance teachers Louise Nelson and Linda Munro.

For further info there are leaflets generally available at all the usual outlets or you can contact the Council Service Point in Church Street - then again you could turn up on the day and take your chance.
Costs are £3 (£2 concession) per session or £9 (£6) day pass.
