THE Trinity Church is holding their Summer Fete on Saturday 2nd June from 2-4pm. Among the attractions are home-baking, the usual stalls, prizes and games plus a bouncy castle.

THERE has been a good response to Merkinch Community Council’s anti-litter “Just Bin It!” poster competition and the judges are still in the process of picking the winning entries - a very difficult job! Watch out next month for the winners to be announced.

NOT to be outdone by their older colleagues in the Junior Boys Brigade, a team from Trinity Church’s Anchor Boys came first at the Inverness & District Sports held at Balloch School sports field recently. They beat teams from all over the city as well as Nairn to take the trophy. Well done, boys!

The AGM of the Toy Library is to be held at art.tm gallery in Bank Place at 7.30pm on Thursday 14th June.

The Blacklight Puppet Show “A Dolphin’s Tail” which delighted the audience at Merkinch Community Centre in February, returned to these waters last month when it was performed at North Kessock on 31st May.

Dates for your diary if you are into Scottish country dancing. Inverness branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society is holding a series of summer dances at St Mary’s Hall, Huntly Place on Friday evenings 8th and 29th June, 24th August and 14th September. Time - 8pm to 10.30pm, admission £2.50.

A couple of days after the fire in the building next to the Trinity Church a reader got a wee smile when he spotted two vans outside the building that had the legend “Home Heating” painted on their sides!
