THE Merkinch Arms has been placed on the market along with the Muirtown Lodge, which has the same owner.
The popular bar, which is situated on the corner of Lochalsh Road and Pumpgate Street was closed for a year in November following a lengthy police anti-drugs operation - the Muirtown was also threatened with closure but reprieved on appeal.
The Glasgow firm handling the sale confirmed to News & Views that the unnamed Inverness Lounge Bar in the advertisement was indeed the Merkinch Arms and added that an offer had been lodged on 17th May.
At time of going to press there was no further news other than that the premises were still under offer.
