Letter to the Editor...

Sir, - Many thanks to J MacMaster and J MacDougall for bringing to the attention of readers the antisocial and disgusting habit of dumping unwanted furniture in Gilbert Street.
I have just requested the Cleansing Department to arrange uplift of the cardboard near the Albyn Housing block of flats; this had been lying there for over two weeks, if not more.

Rubbish left out in the open for the elements attracts vermin and disease. This is potentially a picturesque area by the river. It seems people who live here are trying to turn it into a midden.
Certain residents, who have in the past been known to throw bottles out of their windows, take note!

Football practice for boys and girls

Sir, - I am starting a football scheme to help all the youngsters in Merkinch improve their football skills. I am looking for those 17 and under. This will be a chance for you to improve your skills and try for bigger things. I’ll be running this from 14th June, so if you are interested, give me a buzz on 223255.
This training will be free and is for both boys and girls.
