On target for new outlook on life

Active Adults enjoying archery

One of the activities that the Active Adults group have enjoyed regularly is archery. Pictured here at a session last month with tutor Andy McKinnon are members, from left: Mary Macintosh, Sylvia Strachan, Ann McCreadie, Elsie Normington who organises Active Adults, Primula Grant, Annie MacFarlane, Agnes Pieraccini, and Frances Mellon.

Another activity which the group has taken to with great success is ten-pin bowling. Indeed Mary, Agnes and Annie often go off to Rollerbowl on their own. Mary, in particular, has a lot to thank her newfound hobby for. “I’ve lost two and a half stone,” she told News & Views. “I’m a lot more active these days; it’s really changed my life. We have good fun, and we’ve made lots of new friends and had lots of good nights out.”

In the month of June the Active Adults group aim to visit Revack Estate in Strathspey on the 4th, and go to practise their bowling skills on the 11th in preparation for the Rollerbowl quarterly challenge for Over 50 groups throughout Inverness - that’s on the 18th. Last month they had a trip to Cromarty and an all-day outing to Dunrobin Castle in Golspie, seat of the Sutherland family.
