SIX Board members and two officials from Highlands & Islands Enterprise visited Merkinch Enterprise on 19th May, for the first time in the Grant Street charity’s 11-year existence. The group spent 45 minutes being shown round the premises - including the various training departments and Fliperz’ child care centre - by chief executive Colin Downie.

Sandy Cummings, CE of HIE, Stuart Black, acting CE of Inverness & Nairn Enterprise, and Board members Drew Rattar, John Watt, Susan Torrance, Alex Paterson, Wilma Campbell and Jimmy Gray declared themselves impressed by what has been achieved to help the community achieve a better quality of life. HIE Board members visit their network LEC areas, from Argyll to Shetland and Moray to the Hebrides, on a regular basis.
