Cost of internet access slashed

Ian and Colin with new computers

KNOW how to use a computer but don’t have access to one? Need to pick up your emails but your own computer is down? Then you can find the solution on your doorstep.

Public access to the wonders of the internet and the magic of email has been further improved at Merkinch Enterprise, thanks to a Scottish Executive campaign “to get Scotland connected”.

For the SE’s Public Internet Access Initiative has funded the installation of four new computers at 14 Grant Street that anyone can walk in off the street and use, for a modest fee. The scheme has meant that Merkinch Enterprise has been able to slash its prices for internet access from £3 an hour to £1 an hour - with a minimum spend of £1.

Members of the public can also come in and use word-processing facilities for £2 an hour.
