AT THE end of last year we ran a story about a former pupil from Merkinch Primary, Pat McGregor, who was looking for an old school friend. Sadly the lady had died, but one of our readers, Phyllis Pieraccini nee Wiseman, contacted Pat and re-established contact. Now in their 60s, it was the first time the two had been in touch for 49 years.

Pat lives in Dundee and Phyllis in Scorguie, but after various lengthy phone calls they met up again last month and re-visited some of their old haunts, including the school.
Pat is returning again this month to go with Phyllis to see the exhibition “The Coronation Re-visited” which is being run by the Inverness Local History group in Dr Black’s Hall from Tuesday 3rd until Saturday 7th.

Now Pat is looking for another old school pal - Kay Munro. Kay used to live in the Thornbush Road area, but all that Pat knows about her is that she is thought to have married someone by the name of Murchison.

If anyone knows where Kay is now or what might have happened to her over the years, Phyllis can be reached on Inverness 222407.

• Incidentally, when Pat and Phyllis went back to school, they were intrigued to know what had happened to the big scrolls with the roll of former duxes that were once on the wall. The suggestion has been made that these may have been walled up during alterations - does anyone know?
