mp33 - Involving young people in Merkinch

Hi there!

There’s a Family Fun Day on Saturday 7th June at Glen Urquhart High School in Drumnadrochit. And before you say “I can’t get down there”, transport will be available.
It’s a multi-agency event designed to provide a great day out for folk from all over.

There are workshops on Poi, Music and Drama, a mini Highland Games and Highland dancing, Tae Kwon Do and Body Pump demonstrations, an opportunity to test your fitness, Basketball and Five-a-side Football. We’re hoping to enter a footie team (S1 upwards) so if you are interested, let us know.

There will also be competitions and music, advice and information on substance abuse and other services - and, vitally, a Kiddies’ Corner and Creche. Plus lots more...

It promises to be a great day out, if the weather is kind, AND IT’S ALL FREE!

So do come along - best to book first.

Meanwhile the fishing group is doing well - an outing to Rothiemurchus on 17th May was great fun. Everyone caught a fish. There are spaces in the group just now, so if you are interested in the most popular sport (yes even more popular and with more active participants than football!) this is your chance.

Day in the woods

During the Easter holidays mp 33 had a day out for young families at Abriachan. There was a bronze age house, an adventure trail, a bird hide and various walks to explore. Activities included a bug hunt and a treasure hunt. Rangers Hamish and Suzanne helped make it a great day out for everyone.
