PLANS are in the pipeline to upgrade the environment in the Benula Road area, the local Residents Association heard at their February meeting.

The children’s playpark is to be given a facelift, new street lighting is to be installed, and bases are to be constructed for those wheelie-bins which do not have them.

Council tenants in the area will also be delighted to hear that work is due to start any time on giving them new kitchens. Traffic calming roadworks along Benula Road and associated parking areas are now complete and are so far proving effective.
