AFTER almost 10 years of providing Merkinchers with news of jobs vacancies on easily accessible cards, a new system at the JobCentre means there will no longer be such a service at Merkinch Enterprise.

“It’s the end of an era,” said ME’s chief executive Colin Downie, “but the JobCentre has gone electronic now and they are just not notifying weekly vacancies by card any more.” However, Merkinch job-seekers will still be able to access JobSearch on the net FREE at Merkinch Enterprise and they can also get help from the Employment Action team which is at mp33 four mornings a week.
