Salvation Army scores Scottish award first

THE Salvation Army in Huntly Street has become the first of its kind in Scotland to achieve the prestigious staff and business development award, Investors in People IIP.

The award was presented to Alexander Campbell, the officer-in-charge at Huntly House by Mark Mackintosh of Inverness & Nairn Enterprise. The residential centre is owned by Highland Council and run by the Salvation Army. It has accommodation for 27 men and women, and provides specialist support for those breaking away from addiction or recovering from mental health problems.

The centre also runs a resettlement programme in and around Inverness which offers 25 vulnerable homeless adults accommodation with support to help them be independent.
