I HOPE you all had a pleasant Easter break and enjoyed the good weather.
Over the last few weeks in the Merkinch/South Kessock area we have seen crime trends continue to drop, with a marked decrease in vandalism. This is due to the continuing cooperation between all the local agencies, the police, and especially you, the public.
As the days get longer and the weather improves, people open windows and doors to air the house after the long winter. It is important to remember to close all the windows and doors before you leave the house or go to bed.
The opportunist criminal is always on the lookout for the easy option when it comes to committing crime. If they come across an open window or door it is an ideal opportunity to sneak in and steal something.
The Talon Team, set up as part of Operation Eagle, have had some notable successes, especially with car crime, drugs, vandalism and antisocial behaviour amongst the 14-25 age group all across the Merkinch/South Kessock area.
Remember, every piece of information that you pass on to the police or any other agency is used to fight crime and make this a safer place to live and work.
