SURELY a highlight of the Friendship Club’s year was the highly successful Spring Fling to Oban on 6-9 April. Twenty members - two of them in wheelchairs- along with four helpers made the coach trip, having lunch at the Aonach Mor on the way down on Friday. On the Saturday they went on a mystery tour which fetched up at Tobermory on Mull, and on the Sunday another bus run took them to Easdale and the Isle of Seil. There was Scottish entertainment in the evenings and still plenty of time to explore Oban and purchase those vital souvenirs. “Please, when can we go again,” they asked organiser Elsie Normington as they returned home from what had proved to be an enjoyable, confidence-boosting trip..
