SENIOR pupils at Inverness High organised a very successful event for Red Nose Day. Some brave staff let themselves in for a quiz based (loosely) on the TV hit “The Weakest Link” and willingly displayed their lack of knowledge of pop music (Mr Morrison excepted). Altogether the event raised over £100 - and a great deal of laughter!

THE May Day holiday is on Monday the 7th, and pupils get an extra day’s bonus as teachers have an in-service training day on Tuesday 8th. The summer term closes on 28th June.

LOCAL MP Charles Kennedy visited Inverness High at the end of March and after talking with pupils and staff said he was impressed with the hard work and commitment of both.

IHS Rector Ritchie Cunningham wants to remind all parents that if they have any concerns about their child’s progress, just to ring and make an appointment to see him. The school’s number is 233586.

MERKINCH Primary’s school board invited Colin MacCaulay, project manager of the New Community School initiative, to attend their last meeting to see if there was some way the board could help the project. And on Monday 23rd April some members of the board attended a training evening for school boards run by Highland Council. At their next meeting on Tuesday 1st May the board will be looking at the School Development Plan and the Sanctions Table.
