HARD work on training nights is really starting to pay off for the lads of the Merkinch team.
For in the last two matches they have drawn three-all.
Indeed at Drumnadrochit on Monday 23rd April, wearing their new mp33-sponsored strips for the first time, the visitors fought hard throughout the entire 90 minutes in what was a tense, to-and-fro battle and seemed to have victory in the bag. But a Drum goal in the last few minutes robbed them of the sweet smell of success.

Scorers were Bennie Shields, Sigs Wason and Ali Duncan.

Earlier in the month the team had also shared six goals with Clach Social Club. On this occasion the scorers were Bennie Shields, Willie Wilson and Paul Maclennan.

Well done, lads - keep up the good work!

Uncle Bob’s duo triumph

PORTLAND didn’t get it all their own way in the Inverness Doubles on 12th April. Winners were Uncle Bob’s pair Barry Maclean and Kevin Maclean who beat Ally McGinely and Jim Newlands (Portland C) in the final. Losing semi-finalists were Gordon Morison and Davey Fraser (P’land A) and Bomber Godsman and Alan McKinnon (also P’land C). Last month’s results are as follows:
