Picture yourself standing at the edge of an open doorway in an aircraft which is flying at 10,000 feet - the scream of the engine and the wind whistling around your ears, with the fields below a distant speck. Consider yourself looking out of the open door and then launching yourself, body and soul, out into the cold clear air, and plummeting down towards Earth at 120 miles per hour! Well, that’s exactly what daredevil Roslyn Innes is planning to do in the not too distant future in aid of a national charity.
Roslyn, of Anderson Court, is taking part in a "two mile high" tandem skydive in a bid to raise money for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity. The jump is due to take place at the end of May and involves raising a minimum amount of money in order to complete the jump, as Roslyn says "I’ve never flown before, I’ve been in a plane before, but it never left the ground! Parachuting is one of those once-in-a-life-time experiences, something which I’ve always fancied doing and when this opportunity came up it just seemed right. I’ve lost family and friends through cancer, so raising money for the Marie Curie Cancer Care seems right and fitting."
If anybody would like to help Roslyn realise a life long ambition, as well as benefiting a worthy charitable cause, you can do so by either dropping into the Merkinch Enterprise offices or any of the local shops and fill in her sponsor sheet.
