mp33 - Involving young people in Merkinch

Hi there!

Well, we had a bit of a disaster at No33 the other day and the ceiling has to be replaced. This is likely to take a couple of weeks - but we’ll be back to normal soon. So watch out for when you see the doors open again.
In the meantime it will be business as usual and we will be based at Craigton Avenue. For those used to dropping in at Grant Street this may be a bit inconvenient, but you can still reach us on the same phone number - 717639.

And finally, Roni would like to thank the anonymous person who reunited her with her wallet - and her driving licence, credit cards, pictures of the family etc which were inside. She lost the wallet a couple of months ago when she was on a Summer Programme trip to Dundee and thought she would never see it again. So many thanks to the person who took the trouble. See you soon.

Trampolining is proving popular with Merkinch youngsters and recently Caroline and Russell recently took these three to the Sports Centre for a shot. Just as our photographer arrived the fire alarm sounded and everyone had to come out to the car park - which is why this is not an action shot! However, the alarm was a false one and soon the girls were back to the serious business of jumping up and down.

These youngsters were all set to go trampolining the last day of the school holidays and were disconcerted to find they couldn’t get in to mp33 because of the ceiling repairs.
However, they were not to be disappointed and the group set off for the Sports Centre and an energetic session on the trampolines.Anyone else interested in trampolining - you must be S1 or over - ring 717639.

News in brief...

The WEA sessions started up again after the holidays on Wednesday 30th October.

Feel you still have a bit to learn about cookery? The NCH are running a cooking group - for men as well as women - on Monday mornings for six weeks. This is likely to start around the second or third week of November. The idea is that those taking part make a meal under supervision and then are given the ingredients to go home and make it on their own. Places are limited, so if you want to learn how to do more than heat up a tin of beans, ring Roni now on 717639 to register your interest. Again there’s a creche.
